One caution worth stating plainly: on freshly painted, chalk-finish or already-flaking walls, adhesive pads can lift paint no matter how carefully you work. Test one bat in a hidden spot and leave it a day before committing to a full wall. On glass, doors, tiled surfaces, painted metal and varnished wood the risk is much lower, and those are the surfaces this set handles best.
Boxed For Next October
PVC does not tear, crease permanently or go soft the way paper and card do, so the same bats come out again next year. Store them flat in the box they arrived in rather than loose in a bag, and unfold the wings before packing so the plastic is not held under tension for eleven months. Take the batteries out of every LED before storing. Cells left in a device over a year leak, and leaked electrolyte ruins the contacts, which turns a reusable set into a set of unlit bats. Handled that way this is a decoration you buy once rather than every autumn.
